Our Featured Couple
When I first met Michael, I had no idea that he would be my husband within six short months. But I did know that he was totally different from anyone I had ever met. When we met, I was working full time and was holding down a part-time job as well. Michael is a welder and his hours combined equaled my two jobs and not only that, he commuted to work an hour and a half each day so it was kind of difficult to schedule dates around our busy schedules. Our first date was on a Sunday, the night of the Oscars, I especially wanted to see the show because Jennifer Hudson was nominated for Dream Girls. But as we were sitting in Denny’s, time just seemed to fly by. We talked about everything under the sun and as we were leaving a lady started a conversation with us on our way out the door, she mentioned that Jennifer Hudson had indeed won; the Oscars had completely slipped my mind.

When we were getting ready to leave, Michael said there was a restaurant he wanted to take me that he was sure that I would love. The restaurant was called the Sun Dial and it sits on top of the Westin hotel in downtown Atlanta. It rotates as you are dining and you can see the whole city and beyond and after dinner, we took a carriage ride around the city that was the most romantic date I had ever been on.

Michael told me from the beginning that he was not looking for a girlfriend, he was looking for a wife and that both excited and scared me at first. Here he was talking about marriage and we had only gone on a couple of dates. So I sent him a “Dear John” email and wished him the best. Michael called me for an explanation and I wouldn’t return his calls until he sent me an email and explained himself. That email told me something about myself; I should never judge a person without getting to know them. If Michael had not of taken the time and reached out to me, I would have lost the chance to know a really good father, man, and husband. When I took that leap of faith and realized GOD put this man in my path for a reason, I was ready for the next phase in my life: marriage.

I have known Zetella since I was seven years old and she have always been like family to me. In May, I told Zetella I was getting married August 4, 2007 she went above and beyond any expectations I had. Zetella had a challenge, because I live in Atlanta now and I wanted to come back home to Jackson to get married in the presence of my family and friends. Zetella made it possible for me to stay stress free and the only thing I had to do was come home and walk down the isle. When family does something for you, sometimes there are half attempts and shortcuts taken, but not with Sheldon and Zetella Gooch. I was a bridesmaid in Zetella and Sheldon’s wedding, so I kind of knew what to expect from them, because they planned their own wedding together and that’s how their business took shape.

Zetella and I had been corresponding by mail, email, and phone, so the first face-to-face meeting was at rehearsal the night before the wedding. Rehearsal lasted about 30 minutes because Zetella and Sheldon had everything organized and they were so professional and sincere.

When I tell you they did everything, they did everything: food, flowers, decorations, cakes, music (Sheldon sang), etc….

So Sheldon and Zetella, Michael and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful job you did. We pray that you two will continue to have a prosperous and successful business.
